
Mike is a partner in Manning Elliott’s tax department. He specializes in providing tax advisory services in the context of buying and selling businesses, corporate restructuring and reorganizations, business structuring, and estate and succession planning.
About Michael
Mike primarily focuses on providing income tax advisory services to privately held business and their shareholders. He is experienced in dealing with the Canadian cross-border structuring issues that arise for foreign companies that are expanding into Canada or for Canadian companies expanding to foreign jurisdictions. Prior to joining Manning Elliott, Mike held senior management roles at international as well as mid-sized accounting firms. He presently serves as a finance and tax team member for the Surrey Board of Trade.
Mike is a proud husband and father who enjoys spending time with his family. When not working or enjoying family time, you can find him mountain biking or playing hockey.
Education
Mike achieved a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Simon Fraser University in 2005, as well as a Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia in 2007. He obtained his CPA, CGA designation from the Certified General Accountants of British Columbia in 2010 and completed all three levels of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course as well as the CPA In-depth International Tax Course.
