Michael specializes in providing assurance services with a primary focus on publicly listed companies reporting under IFRS.
About Michael
Michael joined the firm in March 2013, and he has progressed through several roles, including Senior Accountant, Manager, and Senior Manager, before becoming a Principal in January 2025.
Prior to Manning Elliott, Michael gained valuable experience as an articling student and designated professional at a national accounting firm. Over the years, he has provided audit and assurance services to clients in industries such as mining, junior exploration, oil and gas, manufacturing, investment entities, and early-stage biopharmaceutical companies.
In addition to client work, Michael is passionate about fostering team development and currently leads the implementation of a software platform designed to streamline audit engagement requests and workflows. He previously led Manning Elliott’s student audit training program, helping new team members build the foundational skills for success in public accounting.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, travelling and staying active. Having lived in Osaka, Japan, for five years, he enjoys exploring Japanese culture and cuisine.
Education
Michael holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Joint Major in Business Administration and Economics) from Simon Fraser University. He earned his CPA, CA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia in February 2012.
