Purpose of Role:
  • Is responsible for completing routine and complex engagements
  • Organizes and manages client engagements
  • Co-ordinates and directs junior team members in meeting client and firm expectations

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:
  • CPA Finalist or Designated CPA
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience working with private, owner managed clients in a public accounting firm
  • Experience with First Nations Audits considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Computer software proficiency (Caseware, Tax Prep)
  • Fundamental financial accounting and tax knowledge
  • Sound foundation of preparing Canadian personal and corporate income tax returns

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of personal and trust returns
  • Train and mentor junior team members and provide feedback to ensure they are able to make improvements on subsequent engagements
  • Plan and execute notice to readers and review engagements, including preparation of financial statements in accordance with ASPE standards
