Senior Staff Members Steve Reed and Melanie Cockle Gain Special Recognition

Steve Reed, our partner in charge of our Tax Team, has been elected vice-president of the board of directors of the Canadian Soccer Association. The Association is the official governing body for soccer in Canada. Its mandate is to promote the growth and development of the sport from grassroots to high performance. With over 1,000,000 registered players, coaches and officials, soccer now has the greatest participation and is the fastest growing sport in the country.

Steve has also been chosen to be a member of the National Organizing Committee for the FIFA Women's World Cup which is being hosted in Canada in 2015.

We congratulate Steve on both of these prestigious appointments!

Melanie Cockle, one of our senior managers, was recently presented with the CA School of Business' top award in British Columbia for a student facilitator. The Kouri Berezan Heinrichs Outstanding Facilitator Award recognizes CA School of Business facilitators who approach their role with excellence. An outstanding approach of this kind benefits not only students, but also their employers and the entire professional accountancy education process.

Melanie developed unusually effective strategies for supporting students through online learning for modules 1 and 2. As a result, Melanie's students regularly remarked on her friendliness, her detailed and specific feedback, and her ability to connect with them.

We're so pleased, Melanie, that all of your hard work — over and above your role with us — has been recognized by CASB.
