John (pictured at right with his family) has truly made a difference for Special Olympics British Columbia (SOBC). Recognizing and celebrating this, John’s friends and associates have sought to honour him by launching the John Sims Fund to ensure the continuation of his vision and support of SOBC.
It’s been several months in the making, with John’s business associates, family, colleagues, and friends from many areas of his life coming together to support the idea. The first fund appeal was issued to friends, family, and fans of John’s at the beginning of March, and by the month’s end, donations in John’s honour totalled more than $60,000.
John, we congratulate you on this well deserved honour.

Melanie Cockle, one of our senior managers, was recently presented with the CA School of Business' top award in British Columbia for a student facilitator. The Kouri Berezan Heinrichs Outstanding Facilitator Award recognizes CA School of Business facilitators who approach their role with excellence. An outstanding approach of this kind benefits not only students, but also their employers and the entire professional accountancy education process.
Melanie developed unusually effective strategies for supporting students through online learning for modules 1 and 2. As a result, Melanie's students regularly remarked on her friendliness, her detailed and specific feedback, and her ability to connect with them.
We're so pleased, Melanie, that all of your hard work — over and above your role with us — has been recognized by CASB.
